Our Story

Miklos Zoltan (left) and Andrew Nielson (right)

Nielson Zoltan started with two engineers who kept crossing paths at the right moments.

Andrew Nielson and Miklos Zoltan first met while working as embedded engineers at Praesidium. Their job was to develop the BioFi-powered RemWave Sleep Sensor. This sensor is a contactless device that tracks motion, heart rate, and breathing. It was a demanding project, and the long hours spent solving problems together built a natural respect for each other’s skills and work ethic.

After Praesidium, they joined forces again at another startup, this time designing a home DIY security system from the ground up. When the company abruptly shifted direction, both Andrew and Miklos found themselves out of a job on the same day. Instead of taking it as a setback, they treated it as a push toward something they had talked about for years: building real, production-ready products for real clients.

So they teamed up and launched Nielson Zoltan.

From day one, their goal was simple—deliver hands-on engineering that solves problems, works in the real world, and never hides behind buzzwords. Their focus is embedded systems, firmware, electronics design, debugging, and product redesigns for companies that need reliable engineering expertise.

As they grew, they brought on an aspiring mechatronics engineer, Kyan Dunn, who had a strong interest in embedded systems and a knack for 3D design and printing. Kyan helps with housings, fixtures, prototyping, and testing, and he represents something the company cares about deeply: mentoring the next generation of engineers. Teaching, sharing knowledge, and giving young engineers real experience is a core part of what they want to build.

Today, Nielson Zoltan is establishing itself as the embedded engineering resource for Southern Utah—designing, redesigning, reverse-engineering, and bringing ideas to life with precision and practical experience.

Their work is driven by trust, collaboration, and a genuine love for building useful technology.
